Fed: Rudd and Gillard treated parliament with contempt

CANBERRA, Feb 5 AAP - Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his deputy Julia Gillard have been
accused of treating parliament with contempt by not turning up for a vote on the government's
$42 billion economic security package.

Both leaders were missing when weary lower house MPs voted to approve the package before
dawn on Thursday.

The vote followed 12 hours of continuous debate, cut short by the government at about
4.45am (AEDT).
