NSW: Man appears in court over caravan park murder
A man's appeared in a Queanbeyan court charged with the murder of a caravan park residentwho was found dead in a cupboard on Christmas Day.
The body of 60-year-old Windang Caravan Park resident MAXWELL GORDON ABBOTT was foundin his cabin in Primbee on Christmas Day by neighbours.
Police arrested 22-year-old MICHAEL THOMAS O'LEARY at a home in the Canberra suburbof Dunlop yesterday morning.
O'LEARY, from Mt Warrigal near Wollongong, appeared in the Canberra Magistrate's Courtthis morning and was extradited to New South Wales.
He was then charged and refused bail at the Queanbeyan Local Court.
The court heard the men had fought over money owed to the victim on December 16.
Crown Prosecutor Senior Constable DOMINIC GOODYEAR says O'LEARY bashed Mr ABBOTT andplaced him in a cupboard in the caravan and covered the body in clothes.
